Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Just an update on the owners comment. When I originally came to this establishment, the waitress was the owner. We then noticed a new mex restaurant on route 940 near Naomi lake. The same waitress was there and told us they moved. So I took her word for it. Anyway your place is still the best Spanish food around.

My children and I went there for dinner this evening. The staff was very nice - but the food was delish and very fresh. Don't be fooled by the motel in front. Definitely great spanish food.

Was there on 8/31/15 for Monday 1/2 price Fajaties. They had a nice crowd and the food was great as always. Nice ample portion of food with corn or flour tortillas, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. The owners are from Ecuador, this is South American food. While very similar to Mexican food there are some differences in the spices and taste.

It is hidden behind a motel! But do not be deterred; the food and service are very good! Small main room; just a few tables and chairs and lots of South American decor, not just Mexican. We had beef empanadas that were perfectly done. For the main course chicken, rice and beans with plaintains and they were delish. The best part was the service; the waitress was attentive and the food came out quickly. We saw that after 10pm, it turns into a dance club. If you're in the Poconos area& crave Latin food, this is your spot.

Wow! This place is a hidden jem in the Poconos. Yes next to a motel but don't let that fool you. Pork Pernil was outstanding, enchiladas second to none, guacamole dip was super and both the red and green sauces were delicious. Portions were extremely plentiful and each item had its own unique outstanding taste. Yaritza was our waitress and pleasant, attentive, and had everything perfect! We can't wait to come back and bring lots of people with us!

I actually really liked this place. I understand the other reviewers when they say the server looks sad, but I think that's just how she is. She served us our food and drink & chip appetizers and that was that. The food is VERY AUTHENTIC! VERY GOOD. I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a shot.

Our group of 12 visited this restaurant in Feb 2015 while staying at the Inn at Pocono Mountain. The food is outstanding and the wait staff couldn't have been more friendly. They accommodated a large group easily. Everyone raved about their meals and sangria was very good. Very reasonable pricing. As we left, they were clearing the tables for latin dancing. I wish we could have stayed for that.

This place is fantastic. If you can push past the awkward motel exterior you will be rewarded with amazing food and friendly service.

Went to this restaurant for Cinco de Mayo, knowing that Chili's would be packed. The place was quiet and not festive at all - just another Monday apparently. I order a Corona with lime - no limes available ( I know there is a lime shortage - but really?). The food was actually quite authentic and tasty and the price was fair. The waitress, on the other hand, was a real downer. She didn't smile and looked extremely sad - like there was a death in the family. I might give it a shot again but for now it's Chili's or Taco Bell for me!

Food was excellent. Was surprised they close so early during the week. The restaurant and food are really authentic. Location is not the best though.

having had lived in mexico and residing in an area in new jersey with a heavy concentration of mexicans, the food is mediocre at best. this may be due to the fact that mexican food products simply aren't available in the vicinity, but couldn't they at least make a trip to nyc or philly, or have the authentic cheeses, spices and sauces sent the heck up there? waiters and waitresses are fairly distant. nonetheless, since this is one of the only mexican restaurants that i know of in the area, if you're really in the mood for it, go for it, but only if you've only eaten really, really americanized mexican food, indeed!

This place has really good food for a fair price, and lots of different types of tequilas for margaritas. Yum! It's tucked back away in a location off the beaten path as part of a motel, so don't let that deter you...its worth the hunt. Nice family runs it, takes care with their food.

Meh. I'm of two minds about this place. The food is ok, good even, but the service and reliability are not ok. Not at all ok. There have been a few times when I've shown up during their posted business hours and they are just not there. No sign, no explanations. Nothing. Several items on the menu aren't actually there...I sat at the bar once and waited for over 5 minutes and was never even asked what I wanted to drink, eat , anything. All of that in mind, the food is ok and is probably one of the better places to eat in Mount Pocono...the service has just ticked me off one time too many for me to feel happy about the place.

It's homey. One time we went there it was great, the other time was pretty average. But it's a nice place to try, none the less.

I was in the Poconos for a few weeks, and this restaurant was in my regular cycle of restaurants I went to. The food is very good, as are the prices. I would consider this a pretty authentic Mexican restaurant, although I will admit I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject. I really enjoy the food here though. Some of the dishes I've had and really enjoyed are the Steak Fajitas (big portions), Tamales (very very good), and the Empanadas (also very good). Other things I've tried are the Chicharrones with Fried Yuca (different than what I was expecting, pretty good though), and the Mi Casa Seafood Cocktail (not my favorite item, was kind of just seafood with avocado and ketchup). On Tuesdays, the tacos are $1, they're smaller sized soft corn tortilla tacos- I highly recommend the chorizo and lengua (cow tongue) tacos. My friend ordered one of the combination platters (with enchiladas, chimichanga, etc.) and it was very good as well, and very cheap. You also get tortilla chips at the beginning, which are served warm with salsa. (The restaurant is part of the Mount Pocono Motel- I have no experience with the motel)
